YEAR END PARTY APR 2008
The Club’s Year End Party this year was held at the
Navan Curling Club. We had an excellent turnout
for the event with a few oldtimers joining us. The
evening started off with a social hour followed by
a wonderful meal catered by a local group. After
dinner we were treated to a line dance demo and
then we danced the night away
Always a great time at these outings.

The club Graduated 5 couples this year. Unlike last year, we had power the whole evening which made it much easier in the examination process. Congratulations to the Grads and welcome to the world of Mainstream…..(Your challenges have just begun.)

BUNNY HOP APR 2008
The 2008 Bunny Hop was another great success thanks to the “just under” 300 guests representing 18 clubs from around the region, for helping us celebrate. A special thanks goes out to all the club members for “Stepping Up ” and helping make the event run smoothly. Plans are already underway for next year’s event.

SLEIGH RIDE 2008
On Feb 23 we once again enjoyed a fabulous time at Moe & Kathy Amyot’s Gatineau Country Home, on what has become our annual Sleigh Ride. The weather was the best we have experienced in all of the years of the Sleigh Ride. Once again we had a Delicious Pot-Luck Dinner, a funSing-Along with some of our club’s musicians and Dancing to the stylings of Paul our club caller. Dave Currie was a host caller andit gave Paul & Judy an opportunity to strut their stuff. It was a wonderful day of fun and friendship.

Christmas....Christmas 2008..
Once again we celebrated our annual Christmas Party/Dance at our home base, the Roy Hobbs Community Centre in Orleans. This year we had a much bigger turnout, attributed to the two additional squares of New Dancers.
The evening started with a lot of happy Christmas Socializing and the Christmas colours RED & GREEN were very prevalent.
Pot Luck was the meal of the day and anytime we have Pot Luck the meal is always a “Gastronomic Delight” and this time was no exception.
Just prior to dancing we were entertained by a group from the club who were instrumental in winning the GREY CUP at the annual Grey Cup Dance sponsored by the Ottawa Area Callers & Round Dance Leaders Associations, with their award winning, Cheer Leading Routine. (Great job guys and gals)
Then it was time to dance and dance we did to all of Paul’s Christmas Repitoire.
The evening concluded with well-wishing and more socializing.
A wonderful time was had by all…..
Orleans-Cumberland Resource Centre
The Club’s donation of $500.00 to the CRC’s Christmas Basket Program. Gabrielle Forsyth, the Marylene O’Donnell made a presentation of behalf of the club on Dec 15 to Eric-Daniel Sabourin the Fundraising Coordinator and Luc Ouellette the Executive Director. Since 2002 our donations to this worthwhile charity has reached $3542.00 through personal donations and blind auctions held at our Christmas Party/Dance.
